Window hinges buckled in Storm Brian’s high winds – Poole

The Problem:

Window hinges buckled in Storm Brian’s high winds. Window wind damage Poole, Dorset.

On 21st October 2017, ‘Storm Brian’ made his mark across much of the south of England.

The next day I had a call from a lady in Poole who had opened her double glazed window in the high winds, causing the window hinges to buckle.

The top and bottom window hinges were quickly replaced and the windows were working once again.

Georgian bar sealed unit with condensation – Hamworthy

Georgian bar sealed unit with condensation – Hamworthy

The Problem:

Gold, Georgian bar sealed unit with condensation inside

Last week I visited a customer in Hamworthy, whose gold Georgian bar sealed unit had condensation in the cavity.

It’s quite common, especially in the autumn when the temperature drops, for condensation to form on windows and patio doors. This might mean that the unit is no longer sealed.

This doesn’t mean that the whole UPVC window or door needs replacing. If your windows or doors are otherwise in good condition, we can simply replace the unit. This not only improves the appearance of your double glazing, but also the energy efficiency.

Check out the ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos below.

Failed gearbox on a conservatory French door

I was asked to fix a broken conservatory French door at a property in Bransgore, Hampshire.
